But, seriously the Blackhawks are angry with defenseman Chris Pronger for stealing pucks from the ice following Games 1 and 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
Ben Eager was seen verbally confronting Pronger following the game while the Blackhawks were celebrating because Pronger was pocketing game-used pucks after the Chicago victories.
Pronger wouldn't add any insight to the conversations he's had with Eager.
"I don't speak that language, whatever he was speaking. I couldn't hear him," Pronger said. This has started a little war of words between the locker rooms and the hilarious situation was brought up today at Flyers coach Peter Laviolette's press conference.
“What added incentive do they have now?” Flyers coach Peter Laviolette told the media Tuesday.
“They’re mad? They’re angry? It’s the playoffs … I don’t know what else they’re going to do, because we stole their puck,” Laviolette said.
With this side story it's almost easy to forget what a grave situation the Flyers are facing tomorrow when they return home trailing in the series 2-0. The Wachovia Center will host Games 3 and 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals against the Chicago Blackhawks.
The Flyers are 7-1 at home this postseason and that record is countered by the 7-1 road record the Blackhawks hold. So you can apply that time tested adage, "something has to give."
The defense the Flyers played in Game 2 was better and they have held their own in this series against Chicago's biggest stars.
For the second game in a row, Philadelphia held Chicago's top forwards Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews pointless and frustrated.
Though history is not on the Flyers side after falling down 2-0. In 31 of 33 Cup Finals, when the home team wins the first two, it wins the series.
Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals is tomorrow night, with coverage on NBC starting at 8pm.
